Construction included installing a pre-engineered metal building addition of approximately 7,800 square feet, renovation of the existing building to accommodate processing equipment, and proposed site operations, restrooms, and site improvements. Work also included upgrading electric service and HVAC systems.
With the completion of the project, Dane County has been able to divert thousands of tons of material away from the landfill and saves taxpayers over $600,000 per year.
As a result of the County’s dedication, the solid waste division was named debris and recycler of the year by the National Waste and Recycling Association.
