The role entails a wide range of basic to complex tasks, on purpose.
day in the life:
- Prepare and finish interior and exterior concrete reinforcing structures, including flatwork walls, docks, curbs, gutters, and light bases.
- Take on a variety of tasks such as job set-up, hard trowel machine finishing, exterior broom finishing, and decorative or stamped projects.
- Coordinate a small team of workers to ensure smooth project execution.
- Build and set concrete forms (foundations, slabs, etc.).
- Inspect surfaces for potential issues before pouring.
- Work with the concrete truck driver to direct the casting process.
- Apply sealing and hardening components to concrete.
- Problem-solve and make critical decisions on-site as needed.
- Transport materials to the job site and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards at all times.
- Read and follow detailed specification sheets
Safety
- Attend and participate in all required safety trainings and toolbox talks.
- Promote, execute, and adhere to the Company’s safety program (particularly the use of hardhats, safety glasses, and work boots and encourage all employees to adopt safety as a culture.
qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of concrete experience.
- Demonstrate the ability to work with others and be a self-starter.
- Valid drivers’ license and/or reliable means of transportation, required.
- Ability to obtain CDL, preferred.
- High School Diploma and/or GED, preferred.
- Great work ethic, punctuality, and dependability.
- Ability to work indoor and outdoor environments.
- Basic knowledge of construction means and methods.
- Ability to take direction, to listen and to understand assigned tasks.
- Ability to hold oneself accountable for actions, successes and failures.
- Ability to be flexible in the work environment and willing to adapt to changing construction site needs.
- Ability to speak and understand English, required.
- Maintain Basic Hand Tools.
