The Body Shop Technician is responsible for repairing damaged vehicles and equipment, ensuring quality work that meets company standards. This position plays a crucial role in the shop’s operations, collaborating with team members to complete projects efficiently.

day in the life:

  • Inspect and identify repairable parts.
  • Disassemble and reassemble vehicle components as needed.
  • Repair vehicle bodies by hammering out dents, filling gaps, and welding broken parts; replace damaged fenders, panels, and grills; ensure proper fitment of replacement parts.
  • Operate hand and power tools, including welders, cutting torches, hammers, sanders, spray guns, etc.
  • Repair or replace defective parts.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
  • Adhere to safety protocols in line with company policies, OSHA, HAZCOM, and guidance from the Safety Director.
  • Complete daily logs and maintain a clean, organized workspace

Safety

  • Attend and participate in all required safety trainings and toolbox talks.
  • Promote, execute, and adhere to the Company’s safety program (particularly the use of hardhats, safety glasses, and work boots and encourage all employees to adopt safety as a culture.

qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of auto body experience.
  • Post-secondary education preferred, not required.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work with others and be a self-starter.
  • Valid drivers’ license and/or reliable means of transportation, required.
  • Great work ethic, punctuality, and dependability.
  • Ability to take direction, to listen and to understand assigned tasks.
  • Ability to hold oneself accountable for actions, successes and failures.
  • Ability to be flexible in the work environment and willing to adapt to changing construction site needs.
